We start with applying a strip of self adhesive fiberglass mesh tape. There are different types, be sure to use the "grey" type designed for concrete. Once the tape has been applied over the entire length of exposed Plastic Spider Tie Strip. Apply a layer of Acrylic modified "Base Coat" or "Thoroseal" over the the fiberglass tape. The base coat material is used in most EFIS stucco systems. it is readily available at most material supply houses that offer drywall and stucco materials. One layer is all you need. Let it dry and you now have a surface ready to accept finish plaster.
